I bought the 2Pcs Cheese Squeeze Squishy Toy because it showed up in my cart at some point and the price was low enough that I didn't overthink it. I was putting together a school reward box anyway. A two-pack of yellow foam cheese wedges felt like a fine impulse.
That was a few months ago. One of them is still on my desk right now.
I didn't plan to keep one for myself. There's something about the weight and the give of it — dense enough to feel satisfying when you squeeze it, soft enough that it doesn't push back. I pick it up on long calls. I squeeze it when I'm reading something annoying. It's become a thoughtless habit, which I suspect is the whole point.
